Module 2: Due Diligence – Responsible purchasing practices and internal operations
Learn how to integrate risk and impact identification in purchasing and internal operations
This is Module 2 (out of 3) on due diligence, “Responsible Business Conduct” – held in Copenhagen and conducted in English. You can take any module individually, or all three depending on what fits your needs. Participants who complete all three modules will receive a *diploma.
You have a due diligence or human rights policy and you’ve conducted your first risk and impact assessments, how do you move forward and integrate this knowledge in your operations and purchasing practices? In this module, you will learn the fundamentals of internal integration after risk assessments have been conducted, with a particular focus on responsible purchasing practices and how changing your practices can have an impact on suppliers performance and engagement, their workers, and conditions across the value chain. We place particular emphasis on engaging suppliers as key stakeholders to uncover blind spots and strengthen your efforts.
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Understand the link between purchasing practices and risks /impacts in the value chain
- Implement concrete RPP measures that support your company’s due diligence efforts and risk management, after you have identified risks and impacts
- Engage suppliers and other stakeholders to strengthen risk assessment and drive lasting improvements

- Ethical Business Forum– participants will also be invited to join the conference at the end of 2026, a full day dedicated to knowledge sharing, exchanging experiences, and networking with other members working to strengthen efforts in business and human rights and ethical trade.
Target Audience:
This programme is tailored for sustainability and procucrement professionals in private companies, industry associations, NGOs, and public authorities working on responsible business conduct and due diligence.
Details:
- This module is the second part of a three-day training series.
- You can choose to take any of the modules individually, or complete the series by attending all three sessions. Participants completing the series will receive a Completion Certificate* from Ethical Trade Denmark.
- This Academy Programme is free for Ethical Trade Denmark members, with no cap on number of participants from the member organisation.
- Non-members: 5000 DKK per module.
- The courses are conducted in English.
