Webinar: Smallholders’ role in EUDR compliance and achieving sustainability
Join us for an insightful webinar on the pivotal role of smallholders in global sustainability and the challenges they face in complying with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
Smallholders are essential to the production of key commodities like coffee, cocoa, palm oil, and rubber. They play a critical role in promoting biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and sustainable land use. However, the new EUDR requirements present significant challenges for these farmers. Limited access to technology, financial resources, and support infrastructure makes it difficult for smallholders to meet the stringent traceability and compliance standards set by the EUDR. Understanding and addressing these challenges is crucial for fostering inclusive and sustainable agricultural practices.
This webinar will provide valuable insights into the specific obstacles smallholders face and discuss practical solutions and strategies to help them comply with EUDR standards. Additionally, the webinar will discuss the role of institutional donors and business entities in mitigating the unintended consequences of EU legislation in the short to medium term. Experts will share their knowledge and experiences to support smallholders -and their buyers- in their journey towards sustainability.
