Workshop: How to engage with stakeholders in human rights and environmental due diligence
Join us on March 11, where Ethical Trade Denmark and Danish Industry invites you to an afternoon workshop in collaboration with DanChurchAid, Amnesty International and IWGIA, focusing on meaningful stakeholder engagement in the context of human rights and environmental due diligence
The new legislations CSRD and CSDDD require companies to conduct Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence and international guidelines emphasize the need for engaging stakeholders in meaningful due diligence practices. There is a need to work closer with stakeholders and be able to document the process and actions made to address actual and potential risks and violations. While many companies already engage with affected rights-holders and relevant civil society, there is a strong need and demand for further information on how to identify needs, design and plan due diligence activities that create value for both the company and stakeholders.
This workshop will focus on “how-to” get started and/or improve processes to enable more meaningful stakeholder engagements. We will convene Danish businesses from the SME and MNC segment with key stakeholders from other sectors, including civil society for a joint discussion of best practices. Moreover, we will invite actors to share practical case examples as inspiration for dialogue and joint actions. We encourage all participants to share their experiences to create an insightful and open dialogue in the workshop.
In the workshop you can look forward to the following:
• Introduction to stakeholder engagement in the context of due diligence, the CSRD and the CSDDD.
• Presentation of relevant tools to get started.
• Workshop session on how to identify and prioritize stakeholders and plan and conduct engagement.
• Practical case examples from companies and NGOs.
• Discussion on best practices – perspectives from both stakeholder’s representatives and companies.
• Joint take-aways and learnings – and what are the next steps.
The event is reserved for members of Ethical Trade Denmark or Danish Industry.
